Porch notes
Before you say yes
Things to think about before using the board. Not a contract — just porch-light sense so a swap stays sweet.
- The job, and the not-the-job. Spell out what you’re doing, and what you’re not.
- Clock and corner. When, where, and how long?
- Whose toolbox? Do you bring the tools, or do I need to have them?
- Show your chops. Done this before? A photo or a similar job beats a tall tale.
- Who’s on the porch? Only folks you both agreed on. No kids doing the work, and nobody extra.
- If it goes sideways. What if it isn’t finished, or something gets damaged?
- Swap, not cash. Name the return. Favors for favors — not a wallet.
- Rain-check rules. Can you both cancel if plans change, and how much notice?
- Licensed stuff? Skip it. Electrical, plumbing, or medical — this board doesn’t cover that.
- Leave a breadcrumb. Afterward, a quick note so the next neighbor isn’t guessing.

Kids resources lists daycare centers and qualified or legit websites or companies. It is not babysitting or a child-care swap. Names only: nothing you type becomes a clickable link.
